We are excited to bring back the Marcus & Millichap / IPA Multifamily Forum: California in Los Angeles for the first time IN PERSON since 2019. First held in 2012, the conference consistently brings together 500 – 700 active multifamily players from across Southern California, the state and the wider U.S.

This year, we look at the California apartment industry as a contrarian play for investors, weighing the chronic undersupply of units in the region against the current headwinds that make the short term outlook a bit murky. We tackle how the pandemic has changed things, including how units and properties should be designed and managed, as well as how investor appetite, risk tolerance and type has changed.

We’ll also look at some of the more noteworthy development and redevelopment projects as well as explore the state and future of B and C type value-add investments. Geographically, the conference focuses significantly on Southern California but also looks at how the Bay Area, Central Valley, Coastal California and even the other western states are faring, paying special attention to any shifts in demand due to the pandemic, as well as opportunities that are perhaps generating greater returns elsewhere in the country.
